Don’t have time to watch the recording? Take 2 minutes to read our summary notes:

1. Consumers are paying attention to brands’ sustainability performance.

Consumers are increasingly supporting those brands that are purpose-led and having a positive impact on the planet.

63% of consumers have made greater efforts to reduce their carbon footprint over the past two years¹ and product launches with carbon zero or carbon neutral claims have almost doubled since 2017².

2. Fonterra New Zealand has a low-carbon dairy advantage.

Fonterra’s New Zealand on-farm carbon footprint is approximately one-third of the global average, so just by sourcing from us you are reducing the emissions in your supply chain today and demonstrating tangible progress to your stakeholders and investors.

But we’re not stopping there. We are reducing our emissions across the supply chain, working towards net zero emissions in manufacturing operations and distribution by 2050 and finding innovative solutions for on-farm biological emissions.

3. Unlock your sustainable advantage through leveraging our climate claims and capabilities.

Fonterra’s climate claims start from a strong, independently verified foundation – we have been calculating our on-farm carbon footprint for over 15 years and working to reduce our footprint across the supply chain.

Fonterra’s product carbon footprint has been certified to a global standard, giving you confidence that the climate claims we offer can help your products truly stand out. Our offer includes our ingredient carbon footprint certificate, carbon labelling and carbonzero™️ certification.

The data and science behind our claims give your consumers confidence that they are making better choices for the environment.

4. Reduce emissions in your supply chain with carbonzero™ certified ingredients.

NZMP’s first carbonzero™ certified ingredient is NZMP Organic Butter. Having this capability in place means that over time NZMP can broaden the portfolio of carbonzero™ certified ingredients to support customer needs and demands.

5. Fonterra’s trusted partnership with Toitū Envirocare.

Since 2001, Toitū’s programmes have ensured that New Zealand companies are benefiting from international best practices, applied science, and effective tools.

Toitū Envirocare is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research, a Government-owned Crown Research Institute. Though developed for New Zealand business needs, Toitū Envirocare offerings currently serve over 400 clients worldwide.
