Fonterra organic products are independently certified by AsureQuality (a New Zealand Government ownder certification organisation) to internally accepted organic standards.

AsureQuality is an accrediated IFOAM member holding ISO 17065 and ISO 17020 and is an approved Third Party Agent for the New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries under the New Zealand Official Organic Assurance Programme.

How do our products become carbonzero™ certified?

To become carbonzero™ certified, Fonterra has partnered with an independent company called Toitū Envirocare who measure the impact of producing the NZMP Organic Butter; on-farm, manufacturing, distribution, through to disposal of packaging, so we can offset that impact with carbon credits that go towards initiatives such as native forest regeneration and renewable energy projects.

 

Leadership on climate is a key priority within Fonterra’s strategy, and Fonterra New Zealand has one of the world’s lowest on-farm carbon footprints, approximately one-third of the global average, helping us to efficiently deliver carbonzero™  products to our customers.
