NZMP uses innovative technology to share our end to end production process with customers

NZMP developed virtual reality film to offer our customers a unique way to experience the production of dairy products without actually being there. 

For those curious about what life is like on a New Zealand dairy farm, visitors to the NZMP stand at Gulfood Dubai and other trade events will be able to step into a virtual dairy farm world and see for themselves.

NZMP has developed the virtual reality experience to offer its customers a unique way to experience a Fonterra farm without actually being there.

Fonterra Director NZMP Marketing Gillian Munnik says that NZMP has been quick to use the innovative technology, which is only just entering the mainstream as a communications tool, to bring the New Zealand grass-fed dairy story to life.

Ms Munnik says, “By slipping on a virtual reality headset, people can immerse themselves in a 360° virtual farming experience, enjoying the sights and sounds of a typical New Zealand dairy farm.

“It’s an excellent way to showcase our unique New Zealand farming story - the advantages of our pasture-based farming system, natural environment and strong dairy expertise - which underpins our long-held reputation for dairy excellence.”

The virtual reality film now goes beyond the farm gate to include the manufacturing and distribution process so the viewer can follow dairy’s transformation from grass to milk to world-class NZMP ingredients and products.

 “We are delighted to use new technology to expand the way we connect with our customers. The NZMP virtual reality experience offers customers deeper insights into the origins of the products they buy from us,” says Ms Munnik.

The extended virtual reality experience will be unveiled at Gulfood Dubai in Febuary. Conference attendees will also be able to visit the NZMP Virtual Store, where they can browse an extensive range of NZMP dairy fats, powder, proteins and specialty ingredients, all at the touch of a fingertip. The 48” touchscreen takes the customer on a personalised journey through the benefits and applications of NZMP’s ingredients portfolio - one of the broadest dairy ingredient offerings worldwide.
