Andrew Kempson

General Manager of Global Climate Policy, Fonterra

Andrew joined Fonterra 14 years ago and now leads Fonterra’s work to reduce emissions and build climate resilience across the supply chain. He is involved in cross-industry research, innovation, and farmer engagement to achieve Fonterra’s climate targets. He also advises on public policy and shaping Fonterra’s environmental leadership presentation worldwide, strengthening New Zealand dairy’s strong sustainability reputation. He works closely with farmers, global partners, government and policymakers to turn science and strategy into action – advocating for strong on-farm environmental audits and embedding climate action into business strategy, brand positioning, and market access.

Linda Mulvihill

General Manager Energy & Climate, Fonterra

Linda leads the development and implementation of Fonterra’s energy strategy, which ensures that its manufacturing sites and fleets have an economic, secure, and sustainable supply of energy, now and into the future. Her work focuses on shifting the Co-op from fossil fuels to renewable energy, including major projects like converting boilers to biomass, while working towards Fonterra’s near-term emissions reduction targets and 2050 net zero ambition. Growing up on a New Zealand farm also gives her a strong connection to agriculture, and she is widely recognised for leading change that sets a benchmark for sustainable energy in the dairy sector and in New Zealand.

Talia Grala

Programme Manager - Environment, Farm Source

Talia has been with Fonterra since 2022 and holds a PhD in energy balance in dairy cows. Her role supports Fonterra’s net zero 2050 ambition and helps to enhance environmental stewardship across New Zealand’s dairy sector and she is known for translating technical science into meaningful, on-farm solutions. Talia leads specific environmental programmes within Fonterra’s Farm Source team, helping farmers reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. She manages the programme that calculates a carbon footprint for each Fonterra farm, providing this data to farmers and also monitoring the Co-operative’s overall on-farm footprint. Alongside this, she works closely with customers on partnership projects that support practical on-farm change.

Nature

Suzanne Naylor

General Manager Water and Environment, Fonterra

Suzanne oversees the team responsible for environmental strategy, regulation, and compliance across Fonterra's 24 manufacturing sites in New Zealand. A Chartered Environmental Engineer and with more than 20 years’ experience in the water and wastewater sector, Suzanne has a comprehensive understanding of both municipal and industrial systems. She also sits on the board of Water New Zealand, where she contributes to shaping the future of water management across the country.  Since joining Fonterra in 2023, Suzanne has incorporated best practice environmental management into daily operations, offering technical support while leading improvements in water stewardship. 

Annalise Davies

Senior Sustainability Strategy Manager, Fonterra

Annalise is our Senior Manager of Sustainability Strategy at Fonterra, where she oversees the integration of the Co-op’s corporate sustainability plan across its global operations. Since joining in 2020, Annalise has contributed to shaping Fonterra’s environmental and social goals, implementing frameworks that embed sustainability into decision-making processes and involve stakeholders at all levels.

Chris Appleby

On-farm Excellence Director, Farm Source

Chris leads Fonterra’s On-farm Excellence team, helping farmers improve milk quality, efficiency, and sustainability across New Zealand. His team works alongside farmers to support sustainable milk production, reduce environmental impact, and embed practical, science-based solutions on farm. His focus is on driving continuous improvement across the dairy supply chain while supporting farmer success. With a background in environmental management, he brings both technical expertise and a farmer-focused approach to his leadership, guiding innovation and resilience in New Zealand dairy.

Matthew Randal

Manager On-farm Excellence, Farm Source

Matthew leads the delivery of Fonterra’s on-farm excellence programmes, supporting farmers to meet evolving market expectations while building resilient, sustainable businesses. He has been with Fonterra for 12 years, developing expertise in sustainability, data, and analytics to create practical solutions for New Zealand’s dairy sector. His work focuses on designing and implementing initiatives that help farmers adapt to regulatory and commercial change, while driving efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening supply chain transparency. Known for his collaborative approach, Matthew is committed to helping farmers succeed today while preparing for future challenges.

Michelle Good

Manager On-farm Excellence - Innovation, Farm Source

Michelle leads Fonterra’s innovation efforts within the On-farm Excellence team, developing practical solutions to help farmers boost productivity, quality, and sustainability. Michelle is also a hands-on dairy farmer, proudly supplying Fonterra. This dual perspective allows her to champion farmer-focused innovation and ensure new initiatives are both practical and effective. Michelle is also active as a judge for industry innovation awards, reflecting her influence and commitment to progress across New Zealand’s dairy sector.

Andy Mouritis

Sustainable Dairying Specialist, Farm Source

Andy works alongside farmers to improve efficiency and meet sustainability goals on farm. He helps farmers navigate regulatory changes, and to identify and adopt practical solutions that support both productivity and environmental outcomes in areas such as pasture growth, nutrition and reproduction. Andy is focused on delivering tailored, science-based advice that drives improvements on farm, while supporting the long-term sustainability of New Zealand dairy.

Animal wellbeing

Caroline Murray

General Manager Animal Wellbeing, Farm Source

Caroline leads Fonterra’s work in animal wellbeing, focusing on initiatives that strengthen animal health, welfare, and productivity across the Co-operative’s supply chain. A registered veterinarian and with a background spanning clinical practice and senior leadership, Caroline combines technical expertise with a strong commitment to continuous improvement in animal care. Today, she leads a team dedicated to supporting farmers and setting high standards for animal wellbeing across the dairy industry.
