Organic Mature Cheddar Cheese 

Our award winning NZMPTM organic mature cheddar is manufactured from pasturised organic milk, sea salt, rennet and our own proprietary starter cultures. It’s carefully matured for a minimum of 10 months to develop a savoury, slightly fruity flavour. Our cheddar has a naturally soft golden colour with a crumbly texture and white calcium crystals which appear as the cheese matures.

The grass-fed difference

Our organic cheddar cheese has a natural soft golden colour, without the need for the addition of food colours.  ​
 

The secret to our naturally golden cheese comes from our 365 days grass-fed and pasture-raised cows. New Zealand’s temperate climate means our organic cows are outdoors in the fresh air and sunlight, grazing on pasture year-round. ​

 

It’s this diet of grass which leads to higher beta-carotene in our milk which gives the cheese its soft golden colour. It’s the grass-fed difference you can see.​
