In 2015, 93 % of NZMP ingredients came from NZ grass-fed dairy.
Grass is a natural food source for cows – and New Zealand is an ideal place to grow it. Grass flourishes in our country, and our cows produce delicious, nutritious milk that is used in NZMP New Zealand grass-fed dairy ingredients.
New Zealand milk is typically richer, than other milk sources, in omega-3 fats, beta-carotene and a beneficial fatty acid called CLA, and tends to be higher in Vitamin E.
New Zealand pasture-based farming follows seasonal patterns. Our cows begin producing milk through the southern hemisphere’s spring, when grass growth increases. Milk and grass production peaks in October.
While most of NZMP’s dairy is from New Zealand, a small number of our ingredients use milk from around the world. We take NZMP expertise to other global milk pools and uphold the same high standards with these ingredients as we do with our New Zealand dairy.
