This range developed following consumer research that showed brain development as one of the most important drivers for mums, particularly those in Asia, when choosing an infant formula. 

Our scientists have focused their research on the structure of the complex lipids found in human breast milk and the associated benefits for developing infants over a number of years.  The resulting NZMP ingredient has been developed from cows’ milk to help deliver complex milk lipids in infant formula.

 

 

“This is an example where we identify a knowledge gap and create targeted research to explore the gap. We leverage our science to create key selling platforms for our customers. We’re looking to generate evidence that makes a difference.

“The NZMP SureStart™ Lipid ingredient range was developed from the opportunity to improve the content of milkfat globule membrane components in infant formula using natural dairy ingredients, to more closely mimic breast milk composition that may help to support brain development,” says Angela.

NZMP SureStart™ Lipid 100 is available to NZMP customers in finished goods, base powders and/or to those who buy paediatric and nutritional ingredients. The first customer to use NZMP SureStart™ Lipid100 is now able to provide paediatric nutrition products with improved levels of GA – positioned to help support babies’ brain development and brain cell connections.
