Coloured Cheddar Cheese is a semi-hard, rindless cheese. Sometimes referred to as Red Cheddar, this has a mild flavour, smooth texture and a firm body. A natural beta-carotene colouring is added to the cheese in order to achieve a uniform and distinctive orange colour.

This ingredient can be used in the following applications:

  • Processed cheese applications
  • Shredding and slicing for retail, catering and industrial packs
  • Table or snack cheese
  • Cooking and baking applications and mixed with non-cheese ingredients

For best functional performance in shredding and slicing applications it is recommended that the cheese is used within 8 months of manufacture, provided it has been stored at the recommended temperature of 4°C.
